Supports and Services
How does this work?
Services are reflective of individual student/family needs. Often, support plans are a blend of three areas we feel make the most significant impact on overall progress: understanding the paperwork/process/laws, the development of executive functioning skills, and a focus on the student's future.
The campus, the family, and the student (when appropriate) should understand the IEP process. All involved need to feel confident that our students understand what to expect and when; staff should feel prepared and knowledgeable regarding the routine implementation of these individualized plans. We emphasize the importance of building confidence and trust through productive collaboration - while maintaining a focus on student progress.
Some students need an organizational system. Some need to feel more confident when reviewing their grades and selecting a problem-solving strategy: tutoring, studying, corrections, emailing a teacher, etc. Other students might require strategies to recognize when they're feeling overwhelmed and assistance in determining what dependable, healthy tools are available to help them. Some families simply seek a bridge - a facilitated process to communicate concerns regarding a campus approach to their student's needs. Each approach is unique.
